2014: A Year in Review

2014 was the year Bench went from concept to company.

I’ve never personally witnessed a company grow from 20 to 110 employees in less than 12 months. Nor have I personally seen a company grow revenue ~10x in a year. I know there are companies out there that have done that (maybe some of you too!), but before now I’d only ever read about what it was like. It’s really, really hard. But it’s also very personally rewarding.

Throughout the year, many of you shared how your lives have changed for the better after signing on with Bench. You also offered us feedback, suggestions, and even the frustrations you’ve experienced. Thank you for putting in the time to help us get better.

We’re going to work our butts off in 2015 to finish off our vision for what Bench should look like. A few of our plans:

  • Mobile apps for iOS and Android
  • Automatic bank statement pulling for the rest of the major US banks - no more downloading PDFs from your online banking
  • User access controls - for giving employees and contractors read-only access to your Bench account
  • Lots of interface tweaks to make working with Bench delightful

Thanks for trusting us with your business this year. I hope that next year, we can make working with Bench even better.

Best of luck with your venture in the new year.
